The Visual Noise exhibition allowed graduate photography students, whose degree shows were disrupted during the pandemic, the opportunity to display work alongside Rankin. 40 artists were selected from among the prodigious number of applicants, and each winner had been allocated a 6ft x 6ft space at Maryland Studio dedicated to showcasing their images in the two-day exhibition. The chosen artist’s work is inspired by a diverse range of subjects - from personal experience, dysphoric approaches to contemporary culture, art history, and an unabashed love for art and fashion - presented across mixed media from collage to textiles, editorial and film.
