We aim to inspire the next generation of creative and practical minds through work placements, events and our education programme Makerversity DIY.
Makerversity DIY is a growing curriculum of simple and exciting lessons enabling educators to incorporate making and hands-on activities into core subject. The first Makerversity DIY classes enable anyone, anywhere to make affordable ‘high tech’ classrooms and digital tools for learning themselves.
Makerversity DIY lessons are made up of components including video lessons, software, hardware, training and our Makerversity network. All lessons are tied to existing parts of the curriculum and include lesson plans and defined learning outcomes.
Makerversity’s first product design course was delivered and presented to the public at the Barbican’s Digital Revolution in 2014. In partnership with The Prince’s Trust and the i.am.angel foundation, we designed and our Digital Musical Instrument workshop. The six day course worked students through a series of lessons from sound making to 3D modeling. We devised the course to introduce a range of skills and develop confidence, creative and critical thinking.
