i was fortunate to be a resident at the open workshop, in viborg denmark. open workshop is a part of filmtalent, and supports both new and experienced talents by providing facilities, housing equipment and financial support for animation and animation-related projects. while in residency, i begun working on the pre-production for my first independent short film, where to walk, inspired by the music of traditional irish music group, cúig. awoken by the call of distant celtic music, an Irish giant emerges from the earth cladded in mud and rubble. He traverses the landscapes of northern ireland in search of its rhythmic source, revealing the present day aftermath of a post-troubles society, still divided by its history.
