We created a short film that showcases the stories of inspirational entrepreneurial women across the Nigerian (Simi, Teni the Entertainer), South African (Sho Madjozi, Lady Zamar, Shekhinah) and Kenyan (Muthoni Drummer Queen) music scene. Their diverse talents include being singers, songwriters, performers, rappers, event founders, mentors and sound engineers. Told through the lens of the music industry and creativity, it explores the Womenwill themes of entrepreneurship, digital literacy and leadership – fundamental skills that are universal to any profession. By telling the stories of how these women overcame challenges and empowered themselves to succeed, we hope to show that women, with the right tools and opportunities, can achieve anything. The film was created to encourage women in the region to get involved in Google Africa’s skills training programs, including talks, workshops and communities, to help them take the next step in their career.
