This week, Ontario's horse racing leader Woodbine Entertainment reported a slight adjustment to its simulcast betting time at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Racetrack betting on Standardbread tracks is now available from noon on Saturday and is also available for the operator's current live harness race time.
Woodbine Entertainment is Ontario's most famous horse racing operator, running standardbread and thoroughbred racing at woodbine Mohawk Park and woodbine racetrack, respectively. In addition, the group provides casinos and off-track betting stations in Ontario's Greater Toronto area and operates Canadian digital television service HPITV.
In a press release on Wednesday, Woodbine Entertainment informed the public that it would offer a wider simulcast betting time at Racebook in Woodbine Mohawk Park. In addition to being available during standard racing hours, the facility will now open at noon on Saturday. Tim Horton of the track will also begin work at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
In a statement, the horse racing operator announced that the racebook for the Campbellville track will open at 6 p.m. on Monday, 6 p.m. on Thursday, 6 p.m. on Friday and now at 12 p.m. on Saturday. Horse racing fans will be happy to know that the harness racing track holds a four-day race for everyone, thus providing fans with a lot of viewing and betting entertainment.
Starting this week, in another press release, the operator and Ontario Racing announced that they will organize a special retirement ceremony for the world's fastest standard bread, the Bulldog Hanover. The event will be held at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, December 3, 2022, and fans can take pictures with the iconic horse from 6 p.m.
The Bulldog Hanover will then be back in the winner's circle for a special retirement ceremony after last appearing on the racing track and parading visitors. This will include presentations and interviews with the bulldog Hanover team, and the track has also prepared highlight videos of the horse's many achievements to be played at the awards ceremony.
In November, Woodbine Entertainment provided more information about the Winter Series, which is contested at Woodbine Mohawk Park from December 2022 to February 2023. The series will include four events: Niagara Face, Valeditori Face, Blizzard Face, and Snowshoe Face. All of them will include two reserve bridges and provide additional funding finals.
With the year coming to an end, Woodbine Mohawk Park enjoyed a strong racing season thanks to a large crowd. For example, 2022 Breeders Crown generated a betting handle for record attendance and events. In the Oct. 28-29 final, Track reported an impressive C$8,945,779 handle for both online and track betting.
