About me
Hello, I'm Niccy. I'm a London based Graphic Designer,and founder of Studio Arvon, a creative graphic design studio specialising in design strategy, branding and direction.. But I haven't always been a graphic designer. I graduated in Art History from Birmingham University and went straight into Visual Merchandising for 7 years at a number of inspiring fashion head offices. It was in this context that I discovered my love for the creative process, designing in 2D, typography, page layout, packaging and so forth. I retrained as a graphic designer at Shillington College at the end of 2015 and have not looked back since. As a designer I approach my work from all angles - I am conceptual, experimental and I always research thoroughly to enable me to problem solve and come to the best possible outcome. I gain pleasure from developing intelligent design solutions and enjoy taking on a variety of work.

  • Packaging
    PackagingThe brief was to design the concept, identity and packaging for a new brand of tea. Wally's Luxury Tea was born. The concept was based around the idea of eccentric English characters, the notion of 'genius' and storytelling. I did this through referencing Victorian style, a stag head character called Wally, and a playful tone of voice. The flavours are indicated through the different colour packaging.   • LEE HECHT HARRISON
    LEE HECHT HARRISONTo design the identity of the mindful leadership training programme which consisted of visual strategy and eight illustrated workbooks. Taking visual reference from the Swiss international design movement, the visual system of spacious bold and centralised shapes was created to convey calm and well-balanced aspiring leaders. The leaders were to be challenged with making better decisions. The design needed to reflect this spirit, thus the act of looking inwards to encourage harmony and clarity was visually defined.
  • Cassandro London
    Cassandro LondonTo successfully rebrand Cassandro London, including brand strategy, visual direction and artwork for a high end jewellery brand based in London. From initial concept through to completion, all artwork was to reflect the core brand elements across all visual components. The logo reflects the craftsman’s bench as central to the design process. Using metallic finishes, premium textured paper and genuine photographic scenes of the craftsman in his studio, coupled with fashionable borders, the story of Cassandro London begins to unfold.
  • Rhubarb
    RhubarbTo design the identity for start up marketing agency Rhubarb. The design was to encapsulate their brand values and spirit. Creating a flexible identity which strips the brand back to basics to emphasise its core essence. The primitive flat design style was developed to house inner qualities of the brand such as structure, organisation, flexibility and communication. The circles within the logo become punctuation marks, alluding to the heart of Rhubarb as a communications company.
  • Handmade / Vinyl Cover
    Handmade / Vinyl CoverHANDMADE This brief’s requirements was to recreate a vinyl cover by hand. Blur’s ‘The Great Escape’ was the obvious choice for me as I adore this album (who doesn’t?!). I focused on the concepts of loneliness, detachment and horizon lines which Blur have stated link the songs within the album. The different stages of paper bird folding were captured to show the idea of moving forward and new beginnings. The proximity of birds and the way they have been shot evoke the feelings of loneliness and promise. Client - Shillington College Brief Duration - 1 day
  • Identity
    IdentityThe identity created for the 2015 International event 'Consideration,' developed as a way of understanding the plethora of considerations in which industrial and product designers need to understand when approaching their work. This identity celebrates these decisions by reflecting the design possibilities back at the audience in a sympathetic and optimistic way. Client - Shillington College Brief Duration - 3 days
