Like most people, I find it hard to write about myself.
A creative director friend asked me to explain my design philosophy to him. I struggled, until 2am a few days later when I realised that my 8 year old self had already cracked it.
Being a daughter of a single working mum, I spent a lot of time in an after-school club.
It was great: bottomless sweets, arty-crafty activities, a nintendo 64, non-existent health and safety, etc.
In the late 90s, I was interviewed by BBC North - they asked why I loved going to the club.
My answer was that "I love making things".
I'm sure, being 8, that most of what I made was rubbish. But I loved making things to give to my mum, my dad, even my cat - and seeing their reaction.
The same philosophy stands true today. It's why I do what I do.
Building brands from the ground up. Pulling together a client's philosophies to craft their brand's personality. Combining colours and types and images to design a print ad.
Whatever the brief is, I just bloody love making things that mean something to people.

- Property Marketing Awards | Print designSavills entered their in-house marketing team into the Property Marketing Awards in 2013. I was tasked to present design ideas and create the submission - this was the chosen route. I focused on the fact that the in-house marketing team had had a change in strategies that year, and was ‘doing things differently’. I therefore designed the booklet and presentation box utilising illustrations of the ‘Savills world’ to create a contrast between Savills' usually traditional branding and awards submis
- Truly Tripe | BrandingTruly Tripe - the brand, communications campaign and packaging created for my final major project for university. My brief was to re-launch tripe as a desirable product to address the need for more affordable foods, especially amongst rising prices for meat. I discovered that there was a distinct lack of knowledge about tripe, and the whole project centered around the concept of educating consumers and therefore changing their perceptions of tripe.
