  • 36 Days of Type 2020
36 Days of Type 2020My response to the 2020 36 days of type challenge, which invites creatives around the world to create a unique alphabet with a letter each day. Alongside the 36 outcomes I also crafted several posters to show off some of the highlights.
  • Moments by Oliver Bonas
Moments by Oliver BonasBased on a brief set by Oliver Bonas for the YCN, I created minimal luxurious candle packaging based around the historical use of candles and their contemporary usage. Focus is based on the use of candles in meditation and helping focus on work & study. Unwind is based on the use of candles as a means of helping relax after a stressful day, in creating a relaxing mood. Ritual is based on the historical use of candles because of the vulnerable light they emit as a symbol for life and thus its pur
  • A Platform for Joy
A Platform for JoyBased on an RSA brief, I took the opportunity to develop a new modern solution to the disorganised and inconsistent signage found in Britain's railway stations. Through a binder-based book akin to classic design manuals (e.g. DRU's British Rail Corporate Identity manual, Noorda+Vignelli's NYCTA Subway Signage manual & Danne and Blackburn's NASA manual) ideas are explored for a wayfinding system based on typographic clarity and structured around colour-coded organisation of platforms.

Art School Rules!Based on a staff brief to imagine new ways to bring together the Graphic Design community at Nottingham Trent, this three part project consists of a handbook to help integrate new students and teach them how to be inquisitive, creative and lateral thinkers. A series of 'Creative Prompt Cards' are a physical+digital product designed to help students bust out of a creative rut, with a series of creative exercises which they can undertake to get past block. Finally, several posters designed propose
  • Project Refresh
Project RefreshIn a throwaway society where annual, iterative updates to devices have become normalised, we rarely stop to think about where our devices go after we're done with them. For many of us, we will keep our old phones and tablets in drawers to collect dust for years, others however will simply discard their older devices in environmentally unfriendly ways, leading to large landfills in developing countries where low-waged workers sift through discarded electronics containing hazardous materials. • VOID: A magazine about nothing | ISTD 2020 entry
VOID: A magazine about nothing | ISTD 2020 entryVOID is a magazine, literally, about nothing. In response to the ISTD's significance of numbers brief to make numbers and mathematics engaging through typography, I chose to explore zero. Not just in a mathematical sense (i.e. the surprisingly detailed history of its origin as a symbol despite its seemingly straightforward simplicity) but in terms of cultural notions and scientific dilemnas. Throughout the piece, two typefaces (Garamond and Franklin Gothic) and two colours (black and white) rein
