Hey everyone! What in your opinion is the most important skill a designer should have?
I am specifically looking for UX Design but feel free to share for whichever design you like.
I am conducting a research on the matter and I will love your feedback. Thanks!

- Empathy. This is so important no matter what design discipline you're in. If you don't empathise with your client or the target audience your designs might look good but run the risk of not being effective.
- Dedication to your work, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in your subject is pretty vital.Immaculate attention to detail and a great eye for this too!Patience and willingness to take on board and consider the opinions of others in your team.
- Two traits come to mind first...A curious and open mind – the answers don’t live with yourself, a designer that isn’t learning is a designer approaching their best before datePersistence and Resilience – it’s hard to do great work and it takes a lot of knocks to get there
- Communication! Visual both verbal
- I'm going to steal this from Fischli&Weiss, How to Work Better (1991)01. Do one thing at a time 02. Know the problem 03. Learn to listen 04. Learn to ask questions 05. Distinguish sense from nonsense 06. Accept change is inevitable 07. Admit mistakes 08. Say it simple 09. Be calm. 10. Smile
- Hi Adelina,I would say it's a way of thinking, the ability of identifing a problem and then solving it.
- Observation, critical judgement, lateral thought, experimentation, fearlessness, drive, sensitivity.
- Asking the right questions. If you don't have the right prerequisites, the results will in best case just be varnish.
- Two: typography and market research.
- Empathy. If the function, usability or experience of the target audience isn't paramount the design won't be effective.
