I am updating my website during this time in quarantine and I would love to hear people's recommendations for platforms! Hit me up. :D
All platforms welcome:
I am looking for a simple to use, clean and graphically appealing interface. However, I am also looking for it to be easily manipulated and altered, without continuously asking for an increase in payment.

- Well if you want to build a website, before having to spend money on anything Figma is really good. You can design your website for free and it passes it to code for you.
- Hi, I would recommend squarespace for your portfolio and wordpress a blog
- @Dan Lawrence @Sarah Merrett Totally agree! We also use the Semplice plug-in and love it.
- I use Wordpress with the Semplice theme. Needs a little bit of setting up but then it's as simple and customisable as Squarespace.
- If you have the Adobe Creative Cloud (£49.94/month) or Adobe Photography Package (£9.98/month) then you get Adobe Portoflio for free and it's incredible! I'm very fussy too and I like to alter everything in a particular way so this is perfect. Very professional look and lots of different layouts to start from, simple/easy to use once you know where everything is, and you don't have to pay extra for anything as far as I've seen
- @Sarah Merrett I did too, but in a way having less choice has made it easier which is why I am loving squarespace. Good luck! I know how time consuming it is :D
- @Alice Ferguson I used to be on wix and then moved - I have started building on this again - however, the interface is just so messy. I do love how much they let you develop for free though.
- @Carsten Bunnemann I have not heard of cargo - Thanks for the link!
- I was using WIX and have now moved over to squarespace and no regrets!
- Did you already take a look at cargo? I am in the same process right now and cargo looks super nice and affordable to me. Also a strong network linked with it. https://cargo.site/
- Worth considering Adobe Portfolio https://portfolio.adobe.com/ if you'r a CreativeCloud user. Can link up with Behance. Makes sense to keep it all streamlined and up to date from one source.
- I love squarespace!
- Hey! I'm a Wix user personally, works a treat for me and it's not too expensive. It has portfolio plug ins which you just fill with content, or you can just build your own which is pretty easy to navigate. It's also very easy to turn into a shop if you wanted to sell on there. Hope that helps :)
- I use Semplice which is design oriented (and I love it!), but the same founder started CarbonMade which is more geared towards photographers. https://carbonmade.com/
- @Sarah Merrett I use Format too but mine is just a portfolio site (www.rashpalgurm.com).I'm on the basic package too with a maximum of 100 images.Square space is good but as far as I know it's around 3-4x as the amount I'm paying now. However there customisation is extremely flexible. It also has alot of integration features.I guess it depends on what your looking for. Format does have some really nice templates but you can't use custom CSS etc on the basic package.Another option that is worth considering is the Adobe Porfolio platform. It should come with your Adobe subscription (I have the photography plan Photoshop + Lightroom), and provides an API for you to make a very customised porfolio site. All you need to pay for is the domain name I think.Well worth looking intoStay safe n that!
- Thanks so much. Currently using 4mat, which is also great, but as stated just requests money continuously if you want to ammend.I will looking into all sent. Thanks everyone.
- Squarespace should fit the bill for what you need.
- @Huseyin Gunduzler second this, and their customer support is great too!
- Hi Sarah,I use Weebly currently. It's pretty simple to use and the aesthetics are clean and simple. They don't spam you on email for upgrades either, which is nice. I wouldn't choose it though if you're looking for something a bit more flashy.Hope this helped! Stay safe.
- Squarespace is super easy !
- Hi Sarah, please send over! Would love to help :)
