If you worked with a difficult model, and you got complaints from the rest of your team, would you tell the agency or not?

  • Sure. Model agencies usually have a good relationship with almost all their models so they know how to relay the info back to them while you remain neutral.
  • Hi Roxy, this is a tricky one.

It really depends on the definition of 'difficult'. If they were late or didn't take direction well, that's one thing. But if they were rude, condescending to other cast or crew or had no regard for health and safety on set, then that's much more serious.

I would let the agency know what happened, both good and bad - as suggested by Alice below.

Ultimately, the reason bad behaviour happens in the creative industries is due to people not saying anything. We can only move forward if we call people out on this stuff.

    Good luck!
  • It happened to me but unfortunately the model was the client's girlfriend, so I preferred to gloss over.

In a different situation I would have acted differently: I would have exposed the problems to the agency if they asked me a feedback, but in a diplomatic way, something like "For some situations it was ok, for others a little less"
  • Tbh, yes I would. I've had quite a few bookers ask me to feedback on how my experience with a model has been. And I agree with Alice, it's good to try and at least balance what went well with what didn't. The agency will find it useful when considering which jobs to put that model up for in future.
  • Hi Roxy,

If they are difficult because they got a bad nature than yes absolutely. Everyone can decide their own attitude, it's the same thing than calling out any working colleague with a inappropriate behaviour. Don't get me wrong, don't turn into a Karen but as long as you constructive and you wish to prevent other phorographers from the same experience go for it.

If it was difficult jsut because they are not talented than no. If the agent asks for feedback then you can be simply honest.
  • I've been in a similar situation before and in the end I told the agency, I tried not to be completely negative and pointed out things they did well but I was also honest about the things that didn't go smoothly.
