- GBP200-350 depends on the skill, I work on a day rate of GBP400 as a UI/UX Designer for most of my Freelance projects in UK.
- I just wanted to share some additional thoughts on the matter. If you value and sell your worth based on time then you effectively create a position where your clients will buy that time (and own your time). If you value and sell your end result your client buys the end result and not your time (as such, but rather what you are able to produce). You need to be able to assess a bottom line for your own financial purposes and work out how much time you think you will put into a project but that does not necessarily need to be disclosed to the client. How is it that some agencies can charge and be worth so much more than others - is it simply in terms of time served in the idustry against the quality of their portfolio...I don't think so. There are many other factors that create value... not justy time.
- @Livia Lucie I think you are right about being open with regards to pricing.
- @Maria Goad 12yrs, how about you?
- @Livia Lucie how long have you been working in the industry for? :)
- People do need to speak more freely about this so that people don’t charge super low rates like £200/day.I currently charge £45/hr and £350/day. I don’t always price projects on hour/day rates, sometimes via a project rate.A rush fee is usually +50%.
- @Cadu Primola thank you for the mention!

- Thank you, everyone! It's good to have an idea of what other are charging as I couldn't find much information about freelancing rates in the UK.
- @Luke Freeman it's usually the case that your day rate would work out cheaper than your hourly rate... and your project budget/rate should work out cheaper still. This encouarges your client to opt for a more secure work/time basis from your perspective.
- £45/hrTen years worth of experience. Working in self-publishing predominantly, else it would probably be closer to £60.
- PS charge over time late night extra on weekends. You add extra hours
- (1 year experience btw)
- I’m a junior and £150 is my current max, depends on client though :)
- £350 Day rate, Hourly Rate £30Depends on the project budget or client budget.
- It changes a lot depending on the job but usually I charge £200 - £250 a day and I have 2.5 years experience.
