Your responsibilities

As a company we focus on objectives and results, with individuals involved in identifying the best ways to achieve them. We have included this list of responsibilities to give you an idea of the starting point for this position; the exact responsibilities will develop under team leadership.
  • Design & Prototype: work with our designer to create and implement intuitive user experiences and interfaces that help users understand and engage with complex event programmes.
  • Front-end Development: confident development and engineering of beautiful, functional and performant web and mobile apps.
  • Back-end development: collaborating with technical lead to improve back end integrations and solve technical problems related to our cloud stack.
  • Learning & Iterating: measuring and studying user behaviour and performance metrics and using insights to continuously improve user experiences.
  • Coding & Testing: Write high-quality, performant, well organised, maintainable code with a focus on QA and testing, as well as code review of others work. Share and adapt reusable patterns and components when possible.
  • Connectivity and Offline: Help build systems designed to accommodate for poor network connectivity (our live events take place in a green-field site with inconsistent wifi and 4G)
  • Product Quality: Contribute to ensuring the overall quality, accessibility, stability, and security of digital systems and products, in alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Maintain transparent communication about project and task statuses, milestones, and potential risks, collaborating effectively with other developers and departments.

  • Back End Skills: Some experience with a variety of APIs and SQL / NoSQL databases. Working knowledge of AWS and other cloud providers.
  • UX/UI Skills: Experience collaborating with designers to create and improve designs. Some experience with, or interest in, creating simple mock ups in figma. Confident working from ideas or wireframes when designer time is limited.
  • Time Management: Ability to work within project timelines, proactively communicate any delays and contribute to task re-prioritisation to keep things on track
