"A Book From The Archive" talk series is a monthly themed design sessions in which each month the Arabic Cover design archive project invites 3-4 speakers from a specific area of Arabic design and they give a talk about an Arabic cover/s they select from the Archive. This month's theme is Arabic Graphic Design and our first speaker is Maya Moumne. ABOUT Maya: Maya Moumne is a Beirut-based creative director. She co-founded Studio Safar, a dynamic and exploratory design and art direction company whose name evokes just that: Safar being Arabic for travel. She is also the creative director and co-founder of Journal Safar, Beirut’s independent visual and design culture magazine, which aspires to recognize graphic designers as active players in cultural production and to shift the conversation on design and visual culture from its fixation on the global North. Her work spans different media and design frameworks such as branding and communication strategies, publication design, content generation, editorial stories and exhibition design. Her studio’s work has been displayed in various cities across Europe and the Middle East, and featured in It’s Nice That, Monocle Magazine, Vogue, Brownbook Magazine, and Harper’s Bazaar Japan, among others. Maya selected a book titled : Home by Mohi Aldin Allabbad *Note: The talk will be mainly in English. To Register: Follow @arabiccoverdesignarchive
