Hello there, I’m Alfredo and this was my website (and portfolio) from 2014 to 2016.
The background code could be copied and pasted into a new html document and still be a completely functional Web 1.0 page.
It seeked to reflect on my creative process by reflecting ironically on our interaction with (nonsensical phrases that only computers get) digital media.
The webpage also held several easter eggs and hidden links with personal reflections, favorite paintings, songs, pictures, etc in an attempt to ‘humanize’ the infinite coldness of code; highlight that the gap between computational and non-computational expression can be widened or narrowed by our interventions of the medium.
