Article on Audre Lorde

  • Elsa Gore

I wrote an artist spotlight piece for The Gallyry on my favourite writer Audre Lorde, a remarkable feminist speaker. I wrote this back in April, highlighting the striking relevance today of her words which were seen as radical back in the 60s. Looking back on exceptional work by prominent voices like Mrs Lorde or even James Baldwin can be discouraging to see how little has changed, but it serves as hope to see the impact their fight has had and the impact our fight can have in our art. That's how I see it anyhow, do check out the article I wrote if would like to read about the aspects of Lorde's work we can still learn from. https://www.thegallyry.com/post/what-can-we-learn-from-feminist-writer-audre-lorde
