Articulated Zeltbahn

  • Dan Webb

Re-modelled Zeltbahn design, based around the conceptualisation of an already established dwelling found within the remains of a 44 Tonne Articulated Vehicle. One of the multiple interventions in an investigation to repurpose waste material. The Zeltbahn was a multi-functional piece of equipment issued to German soldiers during training. It allows for the triangular panel of fabric to be worn as a poncho in addition to being adapted into a modular shelter system allowing for varying sizes of the tent to be made. My addition of an added storm hood allowed for increased function, including a buckle fastening system, also repurposed from the same waste material.
