Asterism

  • Natalie Newsome
During the second year of my degree I took a module called Architectural Research. This module allowed twelve students to create a publication that broadly covered the topic of women in architecture. This lead to the creation of ‘Asterism’, a collective of people interested in, and dealing with, the relationships between architecture, art, gender, sex, feminism and space. While creating ‘Asterism’ I was elected the role of Head of Design which meant I had to manage the design team and make decisions on the appearance of our first publication; the zine No.1. This was an extremely enjoyable role which allowed me to work with a group of passionate people who worked together creatively and efficiently. Asterism continues as a collective today.
