Backbone is a short documentary about Angelina Scopelliti, the backbone of my family and its restaurant. This short film aims to redefine and challenge the strong & independent woman stereotype, which supposedly wants strong women never to show weakness and walk alone, always independent of others.
Angelina’s strength is her family. Lead characters in the film are her hands, tireless and beautiful, always covered in dough and parmigiana sauce. This film has been displayed at the Central Saint Martins 2016 Degree Show and featured on the Italian online newspaper L’Eco di Bergamo.
