Publication design inspired by nature - the juxtaposition of leaf venation and urban planning

These takeaway designs were created as a response to a brief on a hypothetical exhibition on biomimicry. I have always been interested in art and science, and wanted to find a way to incorporate it in my project. I became interested in creating a contrast between a micro and a macro viewpoints. I was fascinated by the question: what if we can develop streets, the way that water and electricity are supplied in a way that is inspired by leaf venation?
To focus the project, I mapped the streets of the largest cities in the world and photographed leaves exposing the internal structures. I created the juxtaposition by printing on transparent sheets.
