Curating a memorable book launch to celebrate the release of a Norwich city guide. Uniting local businesses, makers and brands. Problem - How do you do a host a memorable book launch that embodies the contents and ethos of the book itself? This was the brief I set myself. Solution - Venue was critical so we hired out a much-loved pub that holds a special place in the heart of Norwich’s indie business scene, The Birdcage. We invited restaurants and eateries that featured in the guide to each bring a signature canapé, resulting in an eclectic taste of Norwich for the guests to enjoy. This got people arriving early and free food always makes people happy! We asked a variety of local DJs and business owners to bring a few records and playback to back throughout the evening, encouraging the collaborative community vibes from start to finish. Results - The evening ran smoothly and was a big success, the guests had a good time, we sold copies of the guide, the food was devoured and we picked up lots of coverage online. People stayed and danced until closing time. We hosted a memorable book launch.
