This project started because i felt it was too easy to take a photograph with a commercial camera, I just need to aim and press a button and the camera does the rest of the work. I wanted to be more involved in the making of the photograph starting with the raw materials for a camera through to a functioning apparatus.
I am in control of my photography more when I have made my own cameras because the success of the photograph is all dependent on me. I have touched all the components of the cameras and have a much deeper understanding of the apparatus I am using.
