CERN // Future Circular Collider

  • Ashley Hyatt

Recently, I had the privilege of collaborating with Polar Media and their esteemed client, CERN, to produce captivating 3D animations for the acclaimed BBC series, 'Searching Space'. Specifically, we contributed to the episode titled 'Inside the Atom Smasher', which delved into the ambitious plans for The Future Circular Collider — a groundbreaking endeavour set to surpass the current Hadron Collider. The primary goal behind The Future Circular Collider is to unlock the secrets of the elusive 'Higgs Boson' particle, promising profound insights into the fabric of our universe. In essence, it represents a quest for deeper comprehension of cosmic phenomena. Within this project, I meticulously crafted two distinct sequences, showcasing the intricate process of pulsing particles to accelerate their velocity and the dramatic collisions aimed at birthing the enigmatic Higgs Boson. Leveraging the power of Cinema 4D coupled with X-Particles, I meticulously sculpted these animations, while the final renders were brought to life through the seamless integration of Redshift. Below, you'll find glimpses of the visual narrative we meticulously crafted, illustrating the intricate dance of particles and the quest for scientific discovery within the cosmos.
