CollectConvertCreate

CollectConvertCreate is a collection of modular pieces that are easily modifiable and can be worn in various ways. The collection, made of repurposed and recycled industrial materials, consists of two modular garments and four handwoven ribbons. The ribbons allow the garments to be pieced together and taken apart, thus allowing complete functionality. This project hinges on the fundamental idea of moving away from take-make-dispose textiles. I want to create artisanal pieces that are highly functional and explore the full potential of textiles. Traditional techniques of weaving are used to create a functional aesthetic that serves as a communicator between garment and wearer.
