The Challenge:
CrowdProject is a interdisciplinary community of creative and enterprising collaborators. We were challenged with creating a environment which embodied a multi contextual surrounding through a multitude of spaces and experiences.
What We Did:
We assembled a design and strategy team which was led by Architect Timmy Adeyeloja. This team focused on Venue Design, Research and Development, Poster Design, assisting on Web Design and overall Branding Consistency
Additionally we assembled a Marketing and Content Creation team led by Mohammed Patel and Nathaniel Brown to create the Brand Story, Event Management (risk assessments, UX, ticketing, staffing), Public Relations and Press Materials.
Once formulated we began the 18 month process of creating a event which would challenge the norms of the conventional space.
The Effects:
Crowd Project launched on 25th January 2018 with a full capacity turnout of 800 individuals and a total combined reach of 1 Million.
The event hosted video mapping by Cote a renowned video mapping specialist. We hosted works by 15 artists from around the world curated by Aidan Wallace and Jenni Li.  The night additionally hosted 4 talks from industry leaders, a virtual reality room presented by Barry’s and four world renowned musicians to encapsulate the mood for the night which included  DeWalta and Mike Shannon on their modular machines, a live hybrid of French exiled in Romania Alex Troubetzkoy and the world premiere of Laurine Frost’s.
The main aim was to allow for attendees to experience a range of thought provoking mediums through different rooms which hosted debates, live music, video presentations and talks all encapsulated through Video Mapping.
The event was covered by 15 pieces of press including ElectroCorp, MixMag and Lacarteson additionally the event was garnered a total of 10 sponsorships including Uppercut, Electrocorp, Mixmag, Boycott, Traxx and Resident Advisor. The event was additionally live streamed via Krave.

Research and Development

Timmy and his team started working with the CrowdProject team to formulate the aims and goals expected for the event. CrowdProject wanted to create a interactive environment which would invoke thought and conversation.
The venue chosen was Saint Merri. The space was chosen through the controversial nature of the venue type and how it would invoke debate. The event would be split with two mediums Music and Art. Within there would be debates, consumer-actors, virtual reality rooms and talks which would further enhance the aims of the space.
Timmy’s team furthered the Research and Development phase by then creating the floor plan and 3D plans modelled through the Saint Merri Church. This allowed for a real time representation of the design.

Design and Set Up

Mohammed and his team set out to create a design experience which would marry Crowd Project but also encapsulate the space through design. The team were put in charge of Design forStep and Repeat, Posters, Pamflets and for thepromotional videography.
Additionally the team were challenged with making sure all Health and Safety regulations were adhered to. Risk assessments and hazard documents were created for all members of staff. Additionally we managed all entries into the venue and ticketing software to make sure the night ran smoothly.
Two days were allocated for set up. VLSwere hired to conduct the technical aspect of the build. A external build team were provided the handover from Arieum to construct panelling and adhere to all health and safety concerns. Jenni Li and Aidan Wallace were in charge of curation of the artwork for the night.
