David Shrigley unveils new work at sketch

Celebrated British artist, David Shrigley, has transformed The Gallery at sketch for the second time with a fresh new exhibition, part of a long-term programme of artist-led features at the iconic London venue. Shrigley has replaced his 239 existing black and white drawings launched at the gallery in 2014, with 91 new colourful new works.
David Shrigley is celebrated internationally for his distinctive drawing style and works imbued with dry humour, which cut to the point of human nature, making satirical comments on everyday situations and interactions.
Recurring themes pervade his story telling, capturing child-like views of the world; the perspective of aliens and monsters or the compulsive habits of an eavesdropper shouting out loud. The new work will continue to offer a side order of humour for diners through these light-hearted works that portray oblique news headlines to digest along with their afternoon tea or dinner.
