Design Is Dead

The pencil has become redundant and widely replaced by software and other computer-based tools that form the main mediums for designers to express ideas on every stage of the design process. This project is paying homage to the beloved pencil by creating a sacred symbol to be placed in our little “graveyard” on our desk, the pencil holders. Design Is Dead pencils act as a reminder to the extinction of our creativity companion. Design is Dead pencil and its subject has been chosen as a point of discussion for academic discourse in art and design universities. Also commissioned to create site-specific, custom made installations in hotels across the world including Hyatt Regency Miami. Similar installations have also been presented in Spectrum Miami during Design Miami Basel and Miami Art Week.
