Whilst working at Elbow I produced a multi-level immersive and permanent drama for English Heritage entitled 'Enemies on the Horizon' at their Cornish stronghold: Pendennis Castle.
Using both evocative shadow play and green screen techniques, the 16th century drama unfolds with the sighting of a supposed enemy Spanish ship off the coast. Visitors follow the shadowy figures from their blurry-eyed morning card game downstairs to the loading and firing of their cannon on the upper deck.
Alongside this central piece, I also worked on some dramatic audio readings recreating a WW2 artillery bombardment - exploring another part of the Castle's long history.
