Migraines are the most common and disabling neurological disorder in the UK, affecting one in seven people. However, their debilitating effects on everyday life are often misunderstood as 'just a bad headache'. Enjoy The Silence is a campaign which uses music and typography to help depict the pain and discomfort of migraines that words alone simply cannot describe. The album consists of the songs migraine sufferers used to depict their own disorder, ranging from heavy rock, to classical, to house music, in order to show how every migraine sufferer has a unique experience. Manipulated typography and optical illusions on the album represent the visual disturbances individuals may encounter during an attack, and aim to provide non-sufferers with an insight into what it can be like to live with migraines. The campaign website acts as a platform to help raise awareness of migraines as a serious health issue, as well as a support network for sufferers.
