'Enneadic' and 'Tercet' (2022)

Exploring the idea of order in the everyday, both of these installations were show in a pure white room to give a clinic feel to the work. I wanted to create works that were obsessively ordered and organised as for me this is what I find calming, as well as this there was the therapeutic use of repetition. the works themselves where creations through repeating the same action for all the works as well as the room itself containing the same object 12 times. I also explored the idea of the number 3, something I have always found satisfying when things are in groups of 3's. There were two reactions when people happened upon this room, some found it calming and almost therapeutic while others found it overwhelming and very white. Both of these feelings I found valid and interesting, I was partly inspired by a room I happened upon while visiting the Tate Britain in 2018 where the room was almost fully yellow, as well as this I found it an interesting approach on the idea of the white cube.
