‘fake it until you make it’

  • Patricia Santos

An experiment exploring the Fashion Industry, challenging boundaries, reality interpretation and the distinction between the real and fake.

This project explores the Fashion Industry, pushing its limits to create a new vision and work that defies it and not something that follows the already made. Particularly in the roles of Fashion Editor and Stylist side by side Art Direction.

Having as a context the ‘fake it until you make it’ approach towards the project, exploring the different mediums and roles in the Fashion Industry. Challenging boundaries and reality interpretation, the distinction between the real and fake, in the attempt to develop an assertive reevaluation of my practice and creative path.
Art directing the new fictional practice, portfolio and online presence, through work appropriation, producing material from existing fashion editorials and my own productions while exploiting repetition and fakeness. Reconstructing my bio, creative style, and communication until achieving the fictional practice as a renowned stylist and fashion editor.
