During my final year I designed the Flexed Coffee Table and YC Whisky Glasses. Flexed Coffee Table: The Coffee table explored using leather to create a surface for a coffee table that could be developed into a range. The leather was taut using a woven parachord to tighten the leather below the frame. The method was thoroughly research and explored though modelling. The design its self was explored through sketch work and solidworks with keyshot to explore finishes. YC Whisky Glasses: The glasses were designed for a whisky connoiseur so they stand and spin in order to meet the demands of enhancing the taste and aesthetic of the whisky. Modelling was key with this design and the requirements of the design were developed by manipulating paper and card which later developed to breaking glass and finally 3D printing designs. Both projects show how I value experimentation through modelling and still value both sketch work and CAD, but use these methods in different methods in order to meet the projects unique brief.
