Form can be defined as the particular way a thing exists or appears. Zoe Laughlin attests to the idea that “there is no matter without form and no object without material”. The two are inextricably linked. I believe there is something interesting to be learnt from exploring this play between three dimensionality and two dimensionality; transforming matter into form. Material led making uses this idea; in the case of this project avoiding direct influence by visual references and instead letting the material guide what is created. It could be argued that everything we create is an amalgamation of everything we have seen, however I believe that not everything we have seen needs to affect everything we will see. Things can be viewed in isolation; with no need for explanation or connotation.
