Freud: Defending the Ego

  • Ciara Olive

‘Defending the Ego’ looks into Freud’s theory of defence mechanisms (techniques used to protect ones self esteem) and its applicability to a figure in the public eye. The publication uses five formats referencing the source of the content which discusses the case study in focus—Fyre Festival and the analysis of actions performed by Billy McFarland. The six defence mechanisms are explained in the ‘About’ section and are further identified throughout the book in 100% Cyan, each with a specific rule relating to their definition. Readers can gain insight into Freud’s theory due to the visual language of Cyan acting as an indicator for analysis and correlation to his theory.
