GAZE: Freelance and Female was a panel discussion and networking event for female and nonbinary freelance creatives. The event’s aim is to connect creatives, provide a platform for discussion and a space to nourish future collaborations between womxn artists. The panel featured gal-dem's Mariel Richards, V&A Artist in Residence Rachel Ara, Editor of The Colour of Madness Samara Linton and Goldsmiths Professor Dr. Nicola King. ARTIQ and x+why launched the new pop-up exhibition, GAZE in October 2019. GAZE explores how womxn creatives experience both the creation and promotion of artwork. The exhibition will profile work by a diverse array of artists who use their practice to explore the narrative and take ownership of the female ‘gaze’.
