Gurriers

  • Magnus Mudrack
In 2017 I curated and designed an exhibition about Graffiti in Ireland for the record label All City.
The name Gurrier is a colloquial term in Ireland for a unruly young man and since this was an exhibition about graffiti it was the appropriate name.
As you can see the everything was hung from the ceiling in a circle, with lifestyle shots hung on the inside and images of finished works hung on the outside. Reflecting the inner and out lives of these artist.
As the exhibition was named after Ireland first graffiti zine the exhibition and promotional posters were all printed on the same A4 pink paper. This allowed for a modular system, the length of the poster could change as well as the order they were arranged. This allowed for a bespoke poster to respond to each location.
A publication was also produced and sold at the exhibition. By folding the A4 sheet length ways it was able to reflect both the exhibition and promotional posters.
