Harrods Technology Department

  • Owain Roberts

As the lines between fashion and technology continue to blur, the Technology Department at Harrods gave a unique opportunity to create an exclusive shopping experience that would feature the very best in innovation and technology. Using the metaphor of a fashion catwalk to showcase the latest brands and their products and to physically connect the five elegantly-designed rooms that form part of the Technology Centre a striking circulation route through the 3,000m2 space was created. Taking inspiration from Harrods’ 1930's heritage, the signature floor pattern selected for the ‘catwalk’ is echoed by a continuous illuminated ceiling feature to create a contemporary, luxurious, light and airy atmosphere within the structural and spatial constraints of the Grade II listed building.
