Hinterra- The Forgotten Spaces

This project was done in collaboration with the WECreate team and I was a student researcher. I was the costume designer and I had to design and make the costumes for the dancers. This project includes screen dancing and it aims to respond to the environment in Malta. As required, I would need to create the costumes that would talk about the age and ‘weight of the past’. So, I combined subtractive pattern cutting and a Japanese pattern cutting method - wearing a circle, into the design, and I was assisted by my sewing technician.
