This project entailed creating a visual identity concept to represent a proposed makers street: Boekhorststraat in The Hague. The solution needed to primarily create a community within Boekhorststraat for the local makers of The Hague, whilst attracting makers to become part of the community. The visual identity consisted of a new name, logo, font for the makers street whilst additionally showing how to implement them across various platforms. The final identity is an abbreviation: BOHO from BOekHOrststraat. The identity has been designed to show the communities precise, strong and solid workmanship through identical thick and bold line lengths. A stork head represents The Hague with the ‘B’ representing LED light bulbs, expressing forward-thinking and sustainability. To symbolise perfection, stability and the beauty of imperfection a broken cube has been used.
