'Indicates' Zine

  • Ness Gagnon

This abstract zine was created with the goal of pushing my limits with experimental design. The zine trades legibility for visual interest, and explores the use of text as a graphic element to express color and texture. I created my own handmade fonts for use in this project, using ink to fingerpaint. All photos were taken by me. The zine uses the essay Our Contemporary Selfie Culture. The smiley face balloon is graffiti I found in Worcester, MA by an unknown artist. The photo of the wall of rubber ducks was taken at Happy Place in Boston in 2019.
