Jump

Inspired by the idea of making new connections while thinking that there are many ways of seeing and perceiving, Jump proposes to reinterpret the meaning of a word and create a new visual definition, based on the words ‘unexpected’, ‘air’, ‘movement’, ‘evolution’, ‘transformation’ and ‘morphology’ – which describes the seamless transition from one state or appearance into another. Focusing on the exact moment an object is in the air, the aim was to capture the unexpected movement and ever changing shapes.

Using day to day objects such as a telephone and a pillow, the process showed the endless shapes and alternatives that could be captured through the lens, and how they could be interpreted through poster design. For the phones, the result was a bit more abstract and artistic; for the pillows, the data taken showed how the shapes evolved by the minute, which can be seen through an infographic poster.
