Brief: 'Learn something new everyday' by creating ten illustrations to go alongside facts.
Concept: I chose gemstones for their beauty, complexity and mystique. I have employed a 3D medium instead of using flat 2D illustrations in order to reflect the multi-faceted quality of gemstones and facilitate a greater representation of the subject matter in a smaller space. The gemstones are arranged to appear as though they have been collected by a geologist and are accompanied by a 'field notes' guide providing information related to each individual stone.
Solution: A 3D crate full of assorted gemstones to act as the illustrations, accompanied with a field notes guide and a poster design.
