Living Artists, Issue II: Performance

  • Rochelle Roberts

What is performance? Performance can be any number of things. We might go to the theatre to see a play, a ballet, or we might go to a concert or a circus production. But perfomance is not just about seeing a show. Performance is present in all aspects of our lives. We might perform gender through our choice of clothing, or perfom our sexuality. We might live a life by false names or break out against our perceived identity. Within this issue, the contributors explore the many aspects of permformance through the medium of art, non-fiction and poetry. These works scruninise what it is to be a person, what it is to live within an identity and a society that imposes lables upon us. Here we have the opportunity to present works on various themes including, disability, voguing, the self, sexuality and the relationship between the past and the present. https://www.livingartistsmag.com/uploads/b/bea72b50-d743-11ea-950c-d345ade2eade/fadb7540-da74-11eb-81e2-af91683828dc.pdf
