Multimedia Games Holdings Inc's net profit for the quarter ended September 30 was $3.8 million, down 38% from $10 million a year earlier.

Net income for the fiscal year to September 30 fell 8.6% to $31.9 million from $34.9 million in fiscal 2013, it said in a statement Wednesday.

Diluted earnings per share for the quarter ended September 30 decreased by 62.5% to $0.12 from $0.32 in the third quarter of 2013.

The Nasdaq-listed PokerTek of Nevada designs, manufactures, and sells electronic table games. PokerTek announced in April that it would merge with Multimedia Games. The latter agreed to acquire PokerTek in exchange for a total of $13 million. The deal was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission in September.

Multimedia Games produces and supplies systems, content, and electronic gaming devices for Native American and commercial casinos. It also supplies a central decision system for video lottery terminals installed at racetracks in New York State.
