Mallard Point

  • Rebecca Wright

A brand creation for a family distillery in Rutland. They have a great back story thanks to their farm being on the exact spot where the Mallard steam locomotive claimed the world speed record in 1938, reaching 126 mph. Mallard Blue is very distinctive and lends itself to brand recognition. The distillery produces both gin and wine on their estate, allowing for an unusual cross-over of flavour profiles. This was dialed up in the copywriting. The family also has an uncompromising approach to sustainability. The custom aluminium bottle and packaging have been developed and designed to promote reuse rather than recycling. Bottles can be safely returned to the distillery by post, where they are cleaned, refilled and returned back to the consumer.
