Marketing Communications, Editorial and Consulting

  • Amy Lynch

Velg Training is a member-serving organization with over 17,000 current members and is Australia's leading provider of Vocational Education and Training (VET) professional development and consulting services. Prior to working remotely from Europe as an Editor and Consultant for the company for three years, I was their Marketing and Communications Manager and worked out of their Brisbane office in Australia.

As a key member of Velg Training’s marketing, communications and events teams, my remote role involved:
• launching Australia’s first online magazine for VET professionals (VET eZine), pitching editorial ideas to an in-house editorial committee, sourcing contributors, copy editing and writing editorial, providing final publication layout, design and marketing collateral prior to digital distribution;
• editorial direction and production of two weekly e-newsletters to over 30,000 subscribers;
• management and implementation of all aspects of the company’s brand identity, media footprint, digital channels and online professional development program;
• management of social media strategy, online training, style guides, print and digital collateral; and
• ad hoc consulting in relation to marketing and communications strategy.

Achievements at Velg Training
• Launched and managed the VET eZine project remotely from Europe through seven digital editions distributed to over 30,000 subscribers (2014–2016);
• managed an online professional development webinar program to create rapid growth and average profit margins of 94% (2012–2014), pitched and facilitated the Australian Federal Government’s first online education and training stakeholder engagement consultations (July 2013); and
• developed and presented sessions at Australia’s largest conference for VET professionals in 2013 and 2015.
