Matariki

Each year Wellington City Council presents a two-week celebration to mark the rising of Matariki, the Māori new year. In 2020, Matariki ki Pōneke was celebrated like never before, with a combination of live and digital events. As we were coming out of lockdown, Wellington City Council asked Storybox to develop marketing materials for the event that would reunite and excite the community for the public celebration. The identity was featured on a citywide poster campaign and digitally, through web and social media platforms. It also made it’s way to a limited run of t-shirts for city council members.
