Maybe We are All The Same

  • Amina Seoudi

This film encourages all women to unite with one another, in order to have honest and personal conversations about their intimate lives. Through the individual narratives/ voices of these Egyptian women one can see how lack of sexual education, shame and fear triggered by their societies have led to tragic consequences for them, such as life in oppression. The visual language investigates the representation of middle eastern women, through archive footage as well as my own. In response to the film, the digital safe-space provides a solution which simultaneously facilitates a larger female discourse and establishes a community for these women who are afraid and restricted from sharing their experiences with their surrounding, because it is taboo to reach out to other women that feel similarly through this platform. directed by me DOP: Max Brunner
