Nice Guys Don't Always Finish Last

An academic poster devised for the purposes of illustrating the above mentioned study. Altruism is a topic of extensive research since it was believed for a long time that the concept of it is in direct opposition to Darwin's theory of natural selection and the dog-eat-dog principle of survival of the fittest.
Many studies have shown that animals by choosing to promote their survival on a genetic level help their relatives more frequently, on occasion aid non-related members of the population in the prospect of reciprocity.
Rats are quite intelligent animals and as demonstrated in the study would rather help out their encaged fellow rat and feast together instead of devouring the piece of chocolate alone.

I guess eating is a social activity in more than one species...
