Editorial and Typography

The brief:

Design a proposal for The Dissertation Journal 2018, a collection of 11 dissertations from the graduating cohort of BA(Hons) Graphic Design 2017. First and foremost, the design proposal must function typographically.

Design outcome:

My publication communicates the idea of the reader being in control of the writings by setting title pages as separate posters giving the reader the ability to rearrange or take out pages.
The layout is minimalistic with a lot of white space and light condensed typefaces.
I am using a 4 column grid with big margins on top, bottom, left and right. The main body of text and imagery is be placed in 4 columns. It is clean and modern. It also increases readability and allows the reader to ‘have a break’ as there is no too much text on each page. My choice of typefaces contributes to this idea too.
